My AT asked for me to think about ways she could decorate the stairwell that the grade ones and twos use. She was thinking about creating a rainbow on one side and then having a big sun and clouds on the other side. Currently she has posted some of the students work and is thinking about creating a cross made up of pieces designed by the students.
The students were read Stone Soup and my teacher is going to be making Stone Soup with them. It really warmed my heart when one of the students suggested they wait until next Wednesday for me to return, instead of making the soup on Friday (which was what was originally planned). Each of the students is responsible for bringing in something. I’ll be providing peas.
My AT and I are now part of the school improvement team along with the other AT who teaches grade 6 and her student candidate. We did some Pedagogical Documentation of some of the children my AT thought could benefit from the observation. We were looking at the children from an asset model to see how we could teach them better and improve upon their learning. Collectively the group came up with a plan and techniques for some of the children.
